Granite is a product of nature, which makes it subject to natural variations such as unique color, movement and shade. It is a strong product that can withstand scratches and common wear and tear. Marble is a highly sought after stone that is exquisite but requires much care & attention. It is a calcium carbonate base which makes it vulnerable to alteration from exposure to liquids/acids. While gorgeous, marble is more sensitive to etching and staining.
Damage from excessive heat can harm your natural stone countertop so the use of trivets or hot pads is always recommended.
